What to Look for in Older Jeep® Models for Sale

We thoroughly inspect every used car that we purchase, but savvy buyers will want to be sure to check for the following things during their test drives.

Read the Window Sticker

Every used Jeep model on our lot will have a Buyer’s Guide in the window that shows whether the vehicle is being sold as-is or with a warranty, and what percentage of repair costs the dealer is obligated to pay.

Careful Inspection

Whether you’re purchasing a used Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, or a different model, you’ll want to be sure to do a careful evaluation. Look for the following aspects:

• Body condition: Check each panel and the vehicle’s roof. Open and close each door, the hood, and the trunk.
• Odor: When you first open the vehicle’s door, take a sniff. You should still be able to enjoy that new car smell.
• Fluids: Check all the fluid levels, including engine oil and the dipstick.
• Battery: Some Jeep models will have a built-in battery charge indicator. Yellow or black usually means it’s dying, so be sure to bring that up to your dealer.
