Jeep Grand Cherokee service

The Jeep® Grand Cherokee is a potent off-road beast of an SUV that also excels around town, but in order for this SUV to run at full power, getting regular maintenance is essential. Here at Woodhouse Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Sioux City, our team of mechanics is happy to share their expertise about Jeep Grand Cherokee service.

Be sure to follow this recommended service schedule.

Oil Changes

One of the most important aspects of service is to get regular oil changes on your Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Most new versions of this SUV include a handy oil change light that illuminates when you’re due for an oil change. Typically, it will turn on around every 3,500 miles.

20,000 Miles

The first milestone for recommended service occurs when your odometer hits 20,000 miles. At this maintenance appointment, our mechanics will check the SUV’s:

  • Brake linings
  • Parking brake
  • Front suspension
  • Front and rear axles

Checks of those systems will subsequently occur every 20,000 miles for the remaining life of your vehicle.

30,000 Miles

This visit only includes a few tasks, including:

  • CV joint inspection
  • Transfer case fluid inspection and refill
  • Engine air filter replacement

60,000 Miles

After six years or 60,000 miles, it’s time for a more extensive maintenance check. Our mechanics will perform a more thorough inspection that combines the systems that were checked at 20,000 and 30,000 miles.

100,000 Miles

After 10 years or 100,000 miles, you will need an extensive service check that includes:

  • All items at 20,000 and 30,000-mile checks
  • Spark plug replacement
  • Transfer case fluid change
  • PCV valve inspection
