The Dodge Extended Warranty Explained

One of the nice things about buying a new Dodge vehicle is that it comes with great warranty coverage. But, on top of the basic warranties, you can also get a Dodge extended warranty. This guide goes over what this warranty covers.
Standard Coverage
Every new Dodge sedan or SUV comes with two warranties:
Basic Limited Warranty
Good for three years or 36,000 miles, this bumper-to-bumper warranty covers quite a few components in your vehicle.
Powertrain Warranty
This five-year/60,000-mile warranty covers the main powertrain systems, including the engine, transmission, and drive axels.
Extended Warranty
You’ll have your choice of two extended warranties:
Added Care Plus
Added Care Plus will give you coverage from five years or 60,000 miles up to eight years or 150,000 miles. Over 800 components are included, as well as:
- Roadside assistance
- Towing services
- Rental cars
- Trip interruption protection
Maximum Care
Maximum Care is good for eight years or 125,000 miles. In addition to the roadside assistance and other elements of the Added Care Plus warranty, it provides coverage of more than 5,000 parts.
Extended Warranty Caveats
It should be noted that you don’t have to buy a Dodge extended warranty when you purchase your vehicle. However, if you want it, you will need to get it before your car reaches four years old or 48,000 miles.
You should also keep in mind that the years included in these warranties are from the original in-service date. If, for example, you opt for the eight-year Maximum Care warranty and your car is four years old, you will only get an additional four years of coverage.
