Why Are There Slow Down & Move Over Laws?

Over 200 roadside workers a year lose their lives because someone did not abide by the "Slow down and Move over" laws. All 50 states have these laws, but there is not much public awareness of them.

The Slow down and move over laws mean that when workers are present, or a vehicle is pulled over on the side of the road, and even with emergency responders you are lawfully obligated to slow down and move over to another lane if at all possible. Slowing down is even more important when you cannot move to another lane. It is suggested to slow down 10 to 20 miles per hour under the posted speed limit.

These laws are there to protect people and help keep our roads safe but are continually ignored or forgotten. We here at Woodhouse Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT would like to thank you for following all driving laws, and helping us spread the word.
